MATCH:     Aztec Prem 1                v                      Shore Rovers

VENUE:     Onewa Arena, North Shore                     TIME:             6.30pm

WON BY:  Shore Rovers                                         RESULT:        66 / 54

Aztec started the first quarter well, defensive unit Ashleigh Timoko and Valentina Fesolai working well to pressure the Rovers shooting action.
1st quarter score:   14 – 17 Shore Rovers

A much stronger team effort to bring the ball through court to the shooting circle, Marcia Bennett contributing to the midcourt along with a stronger shooting performance with her in-form shooting partner Danielle Steffany.
½ time score: 29 – 30 Shore Rovers

Forced changes in the 3rd quarter meant Aztec struggled at times to find their rhythm and the combination disruptions took time to settle.
¾ score:  41 – 46 Shore Rovers

With a further injury in the final quarter, Aztec was again forced to make radical changes, with Stephanie Campbell and Fesolai combining in defence.

Coach Hauraki said after the game “a much better team effort tonight, I look forward to maintaining that sort of performance on a weekly basis.”

Aztec faces off against College Rifles on Friday, 20th April 7.00pm at Rosehill College.
