First game of the President’s round today.  Ardmore dominated the first 15 minutes and despite Paea, Warren and Beazley-Tango working hard to gain possession at the defensive end, Aztec failed to convert it into points as O’Malley and Otene struggled to give the feeders a good target and then only managing to convert 5 goals from 15 shots.  1st quarter score:  5 - 12 Ardmore

Inkster came on at GS, Bilton at GA, Lendrum at WD.  It was a different quarter in this period of play as possession was treasured, feeders found their shooters who shot every attempt, an incredible perfect effort from both Inkster and Bilton.  Ardmore managed to maintain the lead at half time but the gap had closed to 1.  Half time score:  22 - 34 Ardmore

Paea came back on at WD no other changes for the start of the 3rd quarter which was more closely contested than either of the first 2.  Accuracy dropped at the shooting end but Inkster was able to rebound well.  Handling and off-side errors gave away possession that had been hunted down by the hard-working defenders and going into the final quarter the gap had not changed.  3rd quarter score:  33 - 34 Ardmore

Otene came back on at GS and Hemi came off the bench to take the WD bib.  Lots of whistle at both ends this quarter but Aztec was hunting and gathered in 4 intercepts between the midcourt and shooters.  After 17 centre passes in this quarter Aztec finally pulled in front and stayed there increasing the lead to 3 by full time.

A really hard fought match and well deserved win.
